Advice on the Viking theme and the World Heritage Site Hedeby and the Danevirke
Hedeby and the Danevirke are at the centre of the Viking theme in the whole region. But there are also a lot of other places around the World Heritage Site with a history that goes back to the Viking Age, including Hollingstedt, Ellingstedt, Schleswig, Schuby, Kosel, Füsing, Thumby-Bienebek, the Schlei itself and many more.
You would like to feature the “Viking” theme in your municipality, business or association? Get in touch with us. We will be happy to advise you on the history of your place and on how to address the “Viking” theme authentically and in high quality.
Starter pack
For this purpose, we are currently compiling information material as well as maps, photos, images of finds, etc. We call this compilation a starter pack. The starter pack will partly be available online, but predominantly in printed form. You can use it as a quick and easy source of information about the Viking theme and the World Heritage Site Hedeby and the Danevirke, to develop products and services for your guests or as an inspiration for your interior design. We will keep you posted of the publication here.
World Heritage partnerships
A partner programme that is scheduled to start in the summer of 2022 is also in the pipeline. The partner programme is designed as a certification. Provided that certain criteria are met, regional businesses can apply as World Heritage partners and use the quality label “World Heritage Site” for marketing purposes.
World Heritage advice
We would like to expand the range of advisory services for regional stakeholders and businesses in the future. A project aimed at creating additional advisory capacities is in the pipeline. Let us know if you need advice on the Viking theme and the World Heritage Site. It is often just little things that allow you to significantly increase the quality of your products without extra costs being incurred.
